Resumen
The effect of the consumption of treated water from oil production on reproductive indicators of the dual-purpose bovine female was evaluated. This was developed in the municipality of Villavicencio, department of Meta, Colombia. The selected animals were 24 F1 cows, Zebu × Holstein Friesian, randomly distributed in four treatments, each one with a permanent disposition of a previously tested breeding bull and that consumed water at will from treated production used under grazing conditions, as follows: 1) 100 % production water treated, 2) mixture of 50% production water treated and 50% deep well water (PP), 3) mixture of 25% production water treated and 75% PP water, and 4 ) 100% PP water (control). The variables evaluated in each animal were the following: age at first calving (EPP), age at first conception (EPC), calving interval (IEP), calving-conception interval (CPI), number of calves / cow year or birth rate. The results found indicated for CPE and EPP between treatments that ranged from 20.8 and 25.1 months and 30.2 to 34.5 months, respectively, without significant differences (p> 0.05). The variables IEP, CPI, and birth rates ranged from 339 to 466 days, 57 to 184 days, and 0.78 to 1.08, respectively. No differences were found between the animals that consumed and did not consume treated production water.
