Resumen
Since the construction of road tunnels in the country began, they have been susceptible to various fire scenarios, becoming a latent threat to the lives of users, in addition to presenting few studies on the subject, therefore, the objective of this project was to study the behavior of fire within a circular cross-section road tunnel in accordance with compliance with the minimum dimensioning based on Colombian regulations, which, this study was carried out through various simulations and using the Fire Dynamics Simulator calculation engine. The project has a descriptive approach where the behavior of the variables involved during a fire in a road tunnel was analyzed and described, however, methodologically, the project presented a theoretical and experimental part, the theoretical part included the verification model elaborated according to with an investigative article strictly related to the subject of study, while in the experimental part the development of the fundamental objective of the project was stipulated through the different practical simulations for two different cases, likewise, the entire structure, dimensions and the input data into the software in order to ensure the objectivity of the simulations. The applicability of the project is given to the construction and contribution in the study of fire behavior in road tunnels. As far as the results are concerned, the behavior of the variables was described with thermal and graphic images for each of the cases, in addition a comparison was made between these, finally, the conclusions of the work are in accordance with what was wanted to achieve with the project based on its results.
