Resumen
The aim of this research project is to describe the psycho-pedagogical attention profile in children with low academic performance. The research approach under which it was developed was quantitative with correlational descriptive design, which allows approaching the population analyzing several relevant variables to record, study and account for the phenomena that affect the object of study. In turn, the statistical method was multivariate with Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA). The sample consisted of a group of children with low academic performance, who were selected by the main teachers and referred to the project for possible attentional difficulties, the exclusion criteria were two: children with a diagnosis of some kind of disability and children whose attendants had not signed the informed consent. The instruments used were three: four subscales of WISC IV, Likert survey for teachers and academic reports, of which the three basic subjects were analyzed (math, Spanish and natural sciences). As results, it was found that attention as a basic device at the cognitive level, affects the school process, and it was observed that socio-familial conditions are relevant when explaining the subject of academic performance.
