This article is derived from the project: “Impact of Associativity on the Competitiveness of Latin American Companies”; sponsored by the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia with the participation of Universities in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. The purpose of this article is define the factors that influence the willingness to associate with employers in the health sector. In the theoretical framework,postulates on the theory of management, competitiveness and associativity are addressed. The research corresponds to a correlational study of mixed approach.The unit of study is the health sector of Ibagué city, the population is made up of 1,044 entities and the sample is 282, defined with 95% confidence and 5% error.The information collection instrument was validated by experts. As part of the results,it is found that 67.8% of respondents are interested in knowing the benefits of associating and 63.2% have confidence in the institutions that foster associativity. Among the activities to carry out together are training, innovation, certification and participation in events. Through research, important elements are provided to improve competitiveness through associativity, as considered by 91.9% of respondents.
