This article has as its main objective to understand the aspects that facilitate and may limit the implementation of the critical educational model with focus on competencies (MECCEC) at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia (UCC) . It is clear that the implementation of a new model requires a more non-immediate progressive transformation. Methodology: Virtual interviews were conducted with 6 members of the educational community, these were transcribed, categorized and analyzed in analyzable units. Results: In the aspects that favor the appropriation of the MECCEC , the integrative possibilities of the model are recognized, where it favors the active role and autonomy of the students, allowing a more assertive communication. The limiting aspects in the appropriation of the MECCEC are evidenced some differences in the training processes between chair teachers and linked, the evaluation was determined to be reductionist compared to what the model proposes. There is also evidence of pending transition between requisites and criteria of clinical performance. Conclusions: The university faced different challenges, thus evidencing the need for improvements by the university in the inductions and training of teachers both of chair as linked, likewise needs a correction from itself in the use and construction of the rubrics on the part of the teachers,likewise a correction is required in the use and construction of the rubrics by the teachers, the same way the knowledge was rescued in the exposition of the model on the part of the actors and there is highlighted like positive element the integrality that offers the model.
