Resumen
In this literary review we expose the concept and the main characteristics of the victims under the victimology panorama, with the aim of preparing a psychological profile that allows grouping the variables that are of interest to this psycho-legal subdiscipline. To do this, we select updated information on the concept and work of victimology and how it studies the victim of criminal acts. Likewise, we present an important journey from the concept of victim, to the variables that allow identifying a legitimate victim. Subsequently, the general characteristics and causes and consequences of said victims are disclosed, affecting their mental and physical health. Finally, a general psychological profile is prepared that concentrates the elemental and universal factors that appear in the victims, taking into account the population group, gender variables, and economic and social conditions that mediate the facilitation of victim acts. The need to create programs that improve the well-being of a person who has been the victim of criminal acts is also exposed.
