Description: The objective of this research study was to verify the influence of video as a didactic strategy of physical exercise in the elderly, taking into account its methodology. The approach adopted was the qualitative one, having a descriptive scope. This project had a sample of 11 videos recorded by undergraduate students in physical education, recreation and sports from the cooperative university of Colombia which oriented their classes to the older adult program of the Bucaramanga mayor's office, on the other hand, as an analysis technique of this didactic strategy, a systematic observation based on the methodology and prescription of the exercise was used, taking into account elements such as warm-up, cool down, intensity, duration, vocabulary, ranges of movement, muscles to work, hydration, number of repetitions, among others a Once the didactic material was analyzed and tabulated, the statistical analysis was carried out using the SPSS program, where it was evidenced that 81.8% equivalent to 9 videos did not take into account the average in the established intensity, 6 of the videos that are equivalent to 54 , 5% did not perform a calm down, 100% of the videos did take into account the warming when start the practice but only 63.5% took into account the minimum time of the same, 90.9% corresponding to 10 of the videos did not handle an adequate range of motion when performing the exercises, 100% of The videos did work the large muscle groups in each session, but the 90.9% belonging to 10 videos did not take into account a gradual increase in exercise based on the above, it is concluded that the videos lack a complete and adequate structure , which allows the execution of a training session with the necessary conditions for the application in this age group.
