Resumen
This work is the result of the descriptive review of the styles of parental attachment, communication and trust between parents and university students in the city of Guajira-Colombia. The sample consisted of 53 adolescents, 32 women and 21 men aged between 18 and 21 years of age, from the face-to-face programs of Business Administration, Social Work, Accounting and Pedagogy for children, from the University of La Guajira, Villanueva -Colombia. The inventory of Attachment with Parents and Peers (IPPA, Armsden and Greenberg, 1987; Pardo, Pineda, Carillo and Castro, 2006) and a socio-demographic record were used. The results indicate that there is difficulty in communication and trust on the part of the children towards the parents because they do not feel heard, they perceive that their feelings are not respected nor they are trusted in their judgment as young people. Also, was found the prevalence in the population of ambivalent anxious insecure attachment styles and insecure insecure attachment, with the mother and the father respectively.
