| Resume: | El presente artículo parte de un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo usa información primaria y secundaria, atendiendo a la revisión del potencial turístico de Santa Marta y su desarrollo, revisando la cadena de valor, las barreras de consolidación, el crecimiento y el estudio de los segmentos de mercados desarrollados en la ciudad. Entre los resultados la persistencia del conflicto armado en la región y una debilitada infraestructura de acceso a los destinos turísticos impiden el posicionamiento a nivel internacional. |
| Abstract: | This article is based on an exploratory and descriptive study using primary and secondary information, based on the review of the tourist potential of Santa Marta and its amorphous development, reviewing the value chain, consolidation barriers, growth and the study of the segments of developed markets in the city. Among the results, the persistence of the armed conflict in the region and a weakened infrastructure of access to tourist destinations prevent positioning at the international level. |
