Resumen
The objective of this research was to establish whether there were differences in three groups of children (N = 43, ages between 3 and 6 years) regarding the understanding of emotions apparent and popularity among his group of classmates. The children were classified into the following groups; children with AI (Imaginary Friends, n = 13), children with OP (Personified Objects, n = 15) and children who did not present any of the above forms of childhood imagination (n = 15). Stories based on Harris, et al., (1986) were used, where apparent positive emotions were exemplified in third parties and apparent negative emotions in themselves. The analyzes carried out showed that there are no significant differences between the three groups regarding the understanding of apparent emotions positive or negative. The results obtained do not differentiate the children of the three groups with respect to popularity within your group of friends.
