This research is located on the subject of autonomous learning processes, in the field of medical education. Its purpose is to characterize the autonomous learning strategies used by pediatric postgraduate students of the El Bosque University of the City of Bogotá, enrolled in the 2018 and 2019 period. For this, autonomous learning strategies were identified, described and characterized, seeking to make visible the strategies that students plan and put into practice. To carry out the research, the problematic situation in relation to the autonomous learning of the students was raised, a theoretical body was used that accounts for the main theoretical conceptions on pedagogy and mainly on autonomous learning. A methodology with a qualitative approach was used, with a descriptive study, applying as an instrument the Self-employment strategies questionnaire (CETA), of autonomous work strategies, to obtain the information, which was analyzed to answer the research problem.
