The 2019 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) is considered a public health emergency due to the prevalence of cases and incidence, which in turn has generated high levels of international concern, causing a great impact in the 21st century and today it represents a great challenge for mental health. It is essential that mental health professionals design prevention and intervention strategies that allow them to act skillfully to contribute with coping measures to the affected population in general, in order to reduce the development of the psychological impact. (Ramírez, Castro, Lerma, Yela and Escobar, 2020). Goals. General: Detect anxiety symptoms in the Colombian population during the Covid-19 pandemic and design recommendations for its management. Specific: Characterize the sample based on sociodemographic data and related to Covid-19. Detect anxiety levels based on the sex of the study participants. Provide recommendations for the management of anxiety in the Colombian population. Methodology: An exploratory, descriptive, quantitative and cross-sectional study, the sample was made up of 120 natural participants from Colombia. Results. 65.83% was made up of the female sex and 34.16% of the male; 86.67% of the participants were between 18-44 years old. The largest number of those surveyed have incomplete university studies with 40.83%. Most were single (65.83%) and without children; 66.66% of the participants lived in their own home. Regarding the variables related to Covid-19, the majority of those surveyed indicated that their employment situation during preventive confinement has not changed and 0.83% had their contract canceled, and most had part-time work; to 40, 83% increased the workload; 73.33% of the people have only gone out to buy food and medicine and 98.33% of the people did not have symptoms of Covid-19. The female participants with 66% presented anxiety within normal limits and in the male gender it was detected that 39.6% showed anxiety within normal limits. Recommendations. Take care of your mental health, do breathing exercises when you are anxious, stay active, set a schedule for your activities and avoid over-reporting. Conclusion. Anxiety within normal limits was detected in most of the research participants.
