Resumen
The objective of this work was to find out what the parenting experiences of families with children with Down syndrome are: through a narrative review, it was found that those families presented different experiences, feelings and perceptions. The results obtained show that families with children with Down Syndrome experience throughout their upbringing a series of negative and positive feelings that have transformed their family and social nucleus; Likewise, the perceptions that the family lives in the process are expressed and how they have managed to get ahead despite the adversities presented. In conclusion, mothers and fathers despite the news of the birth of their son or daughter with Down Syndrome and each of the feelings and perceptions they have with this topic, have the accompaniment and support of the nursing professional since the beginning of the maternity and paternity process until its completion, in order to generate trust and acceptance for a better parenting experience.
