In the city of Bucaramanga, Santander (Colombia), children and adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old, belonging to soccer, basketball and athletics sports clubs participated in the respective research. The objective of which was to determine if there are significant differences in the flexibility of the lower limbs in relation to the sports modality in children and adolescents in order to measure the relationship of these variables. The respective research has a quantitative approach and a descriptive-explanatory and statistical inferential scope, it has a cross-sectional descriptive design used for this research. On the other hand, the present investigation was carried out in the city of Bucaramanga, Santander (Colombia). The method to choose the sample was directly, the sample of the present investigation was a total of 150 participants, including 106 men and 44 women with an age range between 12 to 17 years, taking into account the fulfillment of the inclusion criteria, exclusion and ethics. The variables of the present investigation are age, gender, sports modality and the result of the applied flexibility test. The instrument used for the respective research was the sit and reach test of lower limb flexibility. In the research, it was obtained as a result of the 3 sports modalities directed to 8 sports clubs (Appendix A) of the city of Bucaramanga, Santander, with a total of N = 150 participants, with a minimum of -19, with a maximum of 26, with a mean of 6.43 and a standard deviation of 7.822, and regarding the results of the sit and reach test, it is concluded that the sport with the greatest range of flexibility is athletics with a statistical result of N = 50, a minimum of : -2, a mean of: 10.42, a maximum of 26 and a standard deviation of 6,328 for the city of Bucaramanga, Santander. A multiple comparison was also made in sports regarding flexibility, showing whether or not it was statistically significant, resulting in the following: In the basketball group with athletics if there is a significant difference, in the basketball and soccer group there is no there is a significant difference. In the group of athletics with basketball if there is a significant difference, in the group of athletics with soccer if there is a significant difference. In the soccer group with basketball there is no significant difference, in the soccer group with athletics there is a significant difference. It can also be seen that the sports modality for both genders with the greatest range of flexibility is athletics. In conclusion, the 3 sports modalities suggest the constant development of intervention plans to potentiate this physical capacity called flexibility around sports practice.
