The use of recycled rubber grain has been implemented in different countries for a few years, in order to find a solution to the negative impacts caused on the environment by the disposal of tires. The implementation of this new material, apart from reducing environmental pollution, helps to improve certain mechanical properties in asphalt mixtures. Two methods are currently known to incorporate these materials: wet and dry; by the wet route the rubber is added directly to the asphalt and by the dry route it is incorporated as a portion of the aggregates. The good dosage of GCR makes the asphalt mixes more durable compared to conventional ones.
