Resumen
The study aims to analyze the impact of the raw material extraction process for the production of cement, brick and steel on the carbon footprint, for which a qualitative and documentary-type investigation was carried out, attending the consultation of printed and electronic documents. As a result of the study, it was possible to identify the raw material extraction process for the production of cement (limestone, slates and clays), brick (clay) and steel (iron), all of which are oriented from mining. In consideration of the above, actions were proposed to reduce the carbon footprint of the process under study. As the main conclusion, it was possible to analyze that despite the fact that the manufacture of steel, brick and cement produces a high carbon footprint, the process of extraction of raw materials generates a low level of CO2 emissions.
