Resumen
The university population is one of the most vulnerable to suffer from anxiety and depression due to the levels of stress they face in their student days and the changes that this entails in their lives. The objective of this research was to determine the prevalence of anxiety and depression in some undergraduate university students in the city of Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area. The study method was carried out with 77 participants selected by snowball sampling. The IDARE questionnaire was used to measure anxiety, while the CES-D test was used for depression. The results show that the prevalence of anxiety of the surveyed students was 100%, all being above the average, and that of depression was 43%. The sociodemographic data of the participants were taken into account, for this a survey created especially to obtain this information was carried out, where it was reflected that those who are most affected by mood alterations are women.
