Resumen
Throughout Colombia's history, behaviors that affect growth and economic development have been presented, caused by socioeconomic, political and environmental variables, impacting on the performance of business sustainability. The general objective of this work analyzes the impact of the socioeconomic, political and environmental variables of the last 10 years in Colombia, for this a mixed methodology was carried out allowing the collection and analysis of qualitative data such as antecedents, foundations, frame of reference and quantitative ones such as trends, volatilities, variations, market behavior, subsequently presenting the information, thus achieving a solution to the research problem in order to identify the impacts of the mentioned variables on business performance and sustainability. As part of the first specific objective, the social variables were determined: unemployment, violence, poverty, inequality and innovation; the economic variables: PIB, external debt, trade balance, interest rates and IPC; political variables: corruption, competitiveness, fiscal deficit, free trade agreement and environmental variables: green bonds, CO2 emissions, deforestation and mining, the behavior of the factors that influenced Colombia over the last 10 years were analyzed. Next, an analysis of the different variables was carried out, initially identifying the weaknesses and strengths in the internal sphere and later, the barriers and opportunities in the external sphere, this in order to show the impact generated by the variables due to changes, trends and factors. It can be seen the internal challenges that the country continues to have socially, economically the growth that has been presented on average to the region, politically the challenge of uniting the country to achieve economic development throughout the Colombian territory and environmentally the importance of environmental policies that generate economic growth and in turn protect ecosystems. For the last objective, the relationship between social, political, economic and social variables was evaluated, since these variables interact with each other. This allowed to give a holistic vision in the investigation, showing that in Colombia there have been improvements over the last few years in economic matters with the growth of GDP, politically with the peace agreements, socially with the reduction of poverty and environmentally with the decrease in deforestation. This contrasts with rising external debt, political polarization, rising unemployment and rising CO2 emissions and reveals a broad picture of he factors that should continue to be strengthened and the factors should not be neglected in order to generate economic growth and development in the country. This research allowed to propose strategies that allow mitigating the impact of social, economic, environmental and social variables on the business sustainability of the country, in order to be an analytical instrument for the business office of the public accounting program.
