The problem to be solved in this proposal is the installation of an ethernet network for a new headquarters acquired by a private security company. This network is planned to be installed in two areas: electronic security and surveillance. To carry out this proposal, it is proposed to meet a general objective, which seeks to: Design a new ethernet network as a proposal to be implemented in a logical and physical way in the new headquarters acquired by the company which is located in the city of Bogota For the logical organization of the proposal, the technical concepts and their applications that refer to the subject in process will be taken into account as theoretical foundations, of which we can mention some such as: ethernet network, the OSI model, the VLMS technique, which is a VLAN and its different types, the applied protocols such as the VTP level 2 messaging protocol and its different modes, the layer 2 network STP protocol, the spanning tree PVST protocol and the 802.1q protocol. During the development of the proposal, a methodology will be taken into account where the network design focuses on a possibility of stacking the Switches that will allow better management, easy scalability and distribution of VLANs throughout the network. For this, a planning must be made where the requirements of the network will be identified according to the needs of the company, the factors that may interfere in the new network will also be identified, such as: Simultaneous connections to shared folders, applications that are going to be used Networking, scalability, network service and traffic type, availability and redundancy. Once the evaluation of the devices used by the company in the previous headquarters was carried out, it was verified that these do not comply with the conditions of the current network, therefore it is proposed to use devices such as: catalyst 2960 x series switch and cisco catalyst 9130ax access point series. As an expected result in the design proposal of the Ethernet network for the new headquarters of the company, we have that the IP addresses assigned for the new headquarters is 192.168.0.0/23 for the alarms section and 192.168.2.0/23 for the surveillance section. As a conclusion, it is said that the number of requested IPs is less than the delivered IPs, giving a great advantage of IP availability in the logical network for the future growth that may arise in the company.
