Anxiety is a normal defensive phenomenon when faced with scenarios that involve risk, danger or commitment, and alerting the subject to possible dangers. For this reason, a distinction must be made between normal and pathological anxiety, taking into account the child's age range and maturity level. Anxiety disorders constitute one of the most frequent disorders in childhood, being associated with academic, family and social difficulties. These anxiety disorders in children include: separation anxiety disorder, has as a characteristic an excessive and inappropriate anxiety for the child's development, affecting their separation from the people who are part of the child's environment. The objective of this review is to determine the clinical manifestations of separation anxiety in children, through a systematic literature review. For this, a descriptive research will be carried out in order to establish the symptoms and the discomfort that it generates in the infant, focusing on the different psychological approaches. For this, some studies were identified from the search criteria proposed in this review, fifteen articles extracted from databases such as: Redalyc, SciELO, and Dialnet were recognized.
