The purpose of this Research is to design a didactic strategy through the implementation of workshops that foster the oral expression development in first semester university students from the sports technical program at a university institution from the city of Bucaramanga. The focus of this research is qualitative and has empirical methods as a starting point with a participatory pedagogical observation because two of the researchers are teachers in the study group. This observation is natural because it is carried out in the classroom and is structured by the reinforcement that is made with a filmic record of the activities in the classroom; In the diagnosis, theoretical methods will be used, such as logical history in the theoretical framework; of analysis and synthesis in the diagnosis, and with a system approach for the preparation of the proposal. The sample is of 33 students from group A-110, selecting using a non-probability sampling technique. The initial diagnosis was made through an oral presentation made using a rubric. The different theoretical references allow us to analyze the current situation of the development of oral expression in university students both globally, nationally and locally, where the little importance that is given to the development of oral expression in higher education institutions is evident. The student who enters the university has weaknesses in his oral expression in both verbal and non-verbal aspects and shows difficulty in communicating assertively in various contexts of his daily life. One of the most used strategies in the university is the master class developed entirely by the teacher, this does not allow the student to practice their ability in oral expression. In the same way, the workshop strategy is implemented that encourages collaborative work and greater appropriation of the learning process by the student, as well as constant orientation, accompaniment and evaluation by the teacher and their classmates. Four genres of oral communication are used: the forum, the panel, the discussion and the oral presentation. The didactic proposal of this research is flexible because it can be implemented in different university academic programs from career or complementary subjects.
