Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease of importance for world public health, it is caused by the Gram negative bacterium leptospira, it affects mammals including humans. It occurs in more than 250 serovars distributed worldwide, transmission is direct and occurs through contact with urine or fluids of the infected animal, however, stagnant waters and swamps can also be a source of transmission, the bacteria enter the body through oral mucosa, conjunctival, open sores or any wound on the skin. Leptospirosis, being a disease with a clinical picture from silent to severe, requires a quick and clear diagnosis; The present work is a bibliographic compilation of all those diagnostic tests that are vital to have a faster and more conclusive diagnosis, benefiting the health of the patient
