The responsible use of technological tools and electronic devices, as well as digital platforms and social networks have been a problem and concern for digital natives who overflow access to them in time and confidence, since they do not foresee, given the lack of training in digital citizenship, the risks and threats to which they can be exposed. Designing a pedagogical proposal for training in digital citizenship with high school students from a public institution in the city of Bucaramanga, became the main objective of this project. Framed in the foundations of qualitative research and action research design, we worked with a group of 340 students and three teachers, to whom surveys and interviews were applied, while a documentary review was made, in order to diagnose knowledge and mastery of digital citizenship and collecting contributions for the design and implementation of a proposal. The didactic sequence as a pedagogical strategy was constituted in the proposal that built in seven sessions addressed the subject of Digital Citizenship, which, in the light of experts, constitutes “a pertinent, assertive and ethical proposal to one of the great concerns of modern society as is the responsible and safe use of TIC by young people.” The invitation remains for teachers interested in training in Digital Citizenship to retake, (adapt, if applicable, and implement the proposal), so that more children and young people are trained in the pertinent and responsible use of TIC, digital platforms and social networks.
