Currently, the global SARS-CoV-2 mortality rate is 0.39% - 17.9%. On March 6, the first case of COVID-19 in Colombia was confirmed. Based on the INS risk assessment, the INS Emergency Operations Center was activated and ERI was deployed to support the characterization of the situation. For the analysis of the situation of this event, it is worth highlighting the multiple causes of the contagion of SARS-COV 2 to propose a strategy that reduces its proliferation in a specific way such as: self-care, preventive social isolation, socialization of the population on the pathophysiology and treatment of this disease.
