Resumen
The work of the teaching staff has been configured as one of the exposed, due to the high stress index, this due to the great challenges exposed by the current world, the challenging students, the new technologies, make the challenge increase considerably. The main objective of the research focuses on knowing what are the factors that generate stress in the professors of the nursing faculty of the Cooperative University of Colombia, focusing on three main aspects, difficult students, work overload and lack of resources to function in their work; the methodology is framed within a positivist paradigm and a descriptive approach; The results were acquired by applying a Likert-type survey that originally consists of 72 questions divided into 5 factors, but for the purposes of this research, only the three aspects mentioned in the specific objectives were taken, which allowed us to conclude that the main generator of stress is work overload, finding that about 72% of the teachers participating in the research affirmed that they have a large workload, a fundamental factor for leaving this profession. The realization of this research fulfilled its objective, since we determined which are the main factors that affect teachers and therefore generate stress, in the same way we managed to rule out factors that were obviously not relevant for the participating teachers.
