The general objective of this project is to structure a payment proposal for environmental services in the El Verjón wasteland, with the purpose of preserving, recovering and conserving said ecosystem. For this, a series of specific objectives are adopted, such as: identifying the environmental services provided by the El Verjón wasteland; assess from an economic perspective the current environmental services provided by the El Verjón wasteland by means of the contingent valuation method; and finally, analyze the cost-benefit relationship of the change in economic activities in the El Verjón wasteland for establish a payment proposal for environmental services. It is concluded that the El Verjón wasteland ensure the sustainability of human life, conservation of biodiversity and the production of goods due to the presence of more than 20 environmental services. In addition, 73% of the surveyed population are willing to make an economic contribution for the conservation and preservation of the El Verjón wasteland with an average of $ 2,411.51, said value is influenced by the behavior of variables such as income level , importance of the environmental service, index of perception of the deterioration of the wasteland and age of the population, for which the environmental economic value amounts to $ 4'545'421,437.86 pesos per month In turn, it is inferred that based on the monthly income of the inhabitants of the area of direct influence of the wasteland and the secondary information available, the value per hectare for the program of a payment scheme for environmental services is $ 106,923, 16.
