Resumen
General Objective: Describe the social representations of the consumption of psychoactive substances in indigenous people of Dabeiba. Materials and methods: Qualitative methodology with ethnographic method, which used the documentary review and semi-structured interview to assess the appreciations on consumption behaviors, making the adolescents who were in the indigenous institutions and other spaces of the Municipality of Dabeiba - Antioquia part of the study. Results: An inquiry is reached about the thinking of the Emberá teenagers regarding their new roles in society, which not only allows them to relate to their ethnic structure but also motivates them to empathize with Western culture. Conclusions: Adolescents have a higher risk of starting substance use that is not directly linked to the rituals of their communities and spiritual leaders.
