Resumen
In response to the few studies of psychosocial factors from a legal perspective in Colombia, we carried out a documentary review where we expose the factors that have historically been associated with the commission of filicide, from their legitimacy to their criminal nature today. For this we collect information on the variables that have been present since ancient civilizations, such as the reduction of the population number, until today, where filicide is considered a crime within Colombian regulations. Likewise, we present a review of parental responsibility in Colombia regarding the care and power of minors, and how it is related to the impossibility of care due to the psychological factors that parents may present, such as mental illness, major depressive episodes, Psychotic outbreaks and substance use intoxication, adding contextual factors, such as socioeconomic difficulties, domestic violence, unwanted pregnancies and unilateral parenthood. In addition, we propose the need to explore factors specific to the Colombian context that allow predicting filicide, so that it is a facilitator for the understanding and subsequent sanction from the judicial system
