In poultry, the time the animal lasts without eating is the time when it begins to spend its body reserves to supply itself. The fasting time begins on the primary production farm before the animal is loaded and is extended to stunning and bleeding. 2184 trips (from farm to slaughterhouse) were analyzed: 428 trips were less than 10 hours and 1756 records corre-sponded to trips that lasted more than 10 hours. Once analyzed, the average percentage of weight loss of corporate reserves in the analyzed trips was 0.11%, and 0.17% respectively, which is equivalent to a difference in kilograms of 9.01 kg per trip. It is concluded that the trips must have a protocol that makes the fasting time less than 10 hours.
