This research focused on identifying the impact that competitiveness has both at the business level and on individuals outside of such organizations that make up the food agribusiness of the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, competitiveness is based on different factors, which may be managerial capacity, value for money, economic resources, technological resources, innovative capacity, financial organization, good infrastructure, goal achievement, among others. Santander has become one of the most competitive departments and of great importance to the country in both economic and business matters, as it is one of the departments richest in biodiversity and fertile soils for food cultivation, according to the information provided by the chamber of commerce. According to a study carried out by the Competitiveness Observatory of the Bucaramanga Chamber of Commerce, the exports that Santander has made to the United States during the last six years, through the Free Trade Agreement, is of great impact when representing innovation, transfer of knowledge, flow of people, investments and contribution to the sophistication of supply and demand (Chamber of Commerce, 2017). That is why it is of great importance that entrepreneurs see associativeness and competitiveness together as a means and / or a tool for economic growth and cooperation to achieve their objectives and success in their economic environment and thus reach more compact markets, generating department and the country higher GDP, which brings with it greater production, greater employment and with this better quality of life.
