Abstract Introduction: Renal therapy is understood as the procedure that allows the purification of the blood in an extracorporeal form, by means of the substitution of the renal function continuously during the 24 hours of the day. Objective: To guarantee comprehensive care for patients with chronic kidney disease based on good clinical practices. Materials and methods: The methodology used was the scoping review, following the protocol of the Joanna Briggs Institute. Results: In general, these are observational and comparative studies that allow evaluating the effectiveness of different strategies and controls that promote care in patients with kidney therapy, regardless of the following categories: Nursing care before, during and after kidney therapy. Conclusion: These patients who have problems with renal therapy in critical care have strict care by specialized nursing personnel, and training and experience in nursing are essential for effective treatment and to improve the quality of life of the patient. patient.
