The present study aims to corroborate the presence of insomnia type sleep disorder and to evaluate the quality of sleep, in a group of 100 adolescent students from an educational institution in the city of Bucaramanga, in ages between 12 and 18 years. This research was carried out under a descriptive scope with a quantitative approach, after having selected the population and with the endorsement of informed consent started with the application of the measurement instruments, which were the ISI (Insomnia Severity Index) and The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, which found in its results that 53% of the evaluated population presented symptoms of subclinical insomnia and 1% are in clinical insomnia, likewise, it was found that 54% of the evaluated population would be presenting a poor quality of sleep, considering these results it is concluded that it is necessary to implement a series of preventive measures against care and well-being of the dream in these adolescents who are in academic fields, because they could present deterioration in their physical and emotional health, in addition to low school performance
