The appearance and prevalence of Burnout syndrome at present is known by the Mental Health Organization (WHO) as a health problem generated by stress in the work environment, causing workers to feel emotional exhaustion, suffering from depersonalization. in the areas of his life and little motivation for his personal and professional self-realization. (Doctors and patients, 2019) According to studies, the population most prone to suffer from this syndrome includes university teachers, due to the workload they manage and the functions they perform within the educational-work environment. However, although there are several risk factors that can increase the appearance of the syndrome, this article is based on the influence of the psychological contract and the violation of organizational justice in the subject. The antecedents of the pertinent topics from the 1950s to the present day were identified as sources of theoretical information, taking into account the global history of each subtopic, and a reflective analysis was carried out from the cognitive model, taking into account the different schools and authors that belong to this model of study of psychology. Regarding research sources, scientific studies published in scientific journals, scientific articles, specialized journals, systematic reviews, graduate theses and specialization theses were included.
