In Colombia, with the unique system of qualification, which is mandatory for the entry and permanence in the market of health services, the service provider institutions are required to grow annually in humanization, that is why the institutions design Humanized care policies for the programs and services they offer. However, when documenting the policy, it is perceived as another of the institutional policies and not with the appropriate transversal approach as an organizational culture that must be implemented through human programs, humanized activities, humanized and inclusive infrastructure, humanizing technology, humanized treatment, staff truly skilled and really human. To achieve the objective of the present business practice that is carried out thanks to the need of the IPS of the municipality of Cartago E.S.E, to meet the annual growth in humanization, the technique of document and content analysis was used through the method document review with matrices. The results obtained from the documentary review show that the IPS humanization policy of the Cartago E.S.E municipality lacks clarity and depth in the guidelines, strategies and goals. The drafting of a policy is not enough, if it does not have an implementation approach, guidelines, goals and strategies, in addition to including a description of the indicators, surveys or methodologies to guarantee the monitoring, follow-up and periodic review of the policy, with the ultimate goal of strengthening or optimizing strategies towards the achievement of the general objective and to get to where the scope is intended.
