Resumen
In this document some characteristics of journalists in the transitional justice context are studied, an analysis of the journalism in the transitional justice context was presented in Latin America from 1970 to 2018. A historical overview made of the dictatorships of some countries in the Southern Cone and the continent's armed conflicts, a conceptualization of the pillars of Transitional Justice is also proposed. On the other hand, two divisions are proposed for the development of transitional justice mechanisms from a journalistic perspective, the first division consists of the dictatorial models that emerged in Latin America during that time and its transition to democracy, the second relates the conflict-post-conflict scenarios and their political relationship with the practice of journalism. Likewise, emphasis is placed on press freedom and the conditions or guarantees that the profession has on the continent.
