The media help shape public opinion that influences the perception of the audience, as fundamental in a society, they must contribute to the proper inclusion of actors, problems of sex, age or their condition. Sport, as a space for socialization in which the attitudes and behaviors of men and women are found, is an instrument for the development of the human being, where it has been reflected on the difficulties that women have had to overcome in order to achieve their integration. Women athletes have gone through many obstacles to position themselves to what they are today, not defined as gender equality, but which over time have managed to occupy the place that corresponds to them as a human being. The figures of different studies carried out by authors who have dedicated time to investigate the role of women in the media and highlight the protagonists of history who defied a social reality, feminist organizations created to occupy and position itself in the sports space, and finally, how the media handle the information of athletes in mass media channels, which as a generator of opinions, are key to building an equitable society for human beings.
