Resumen
The present study aimed to identify the performance of short-term memory in a group of adults with diagnostic criteria for Minor Cognitive Impairment and a control group. Through a cross-sectional observational quantitative approach of analytical design, the type of sampling was not probabilistic depending on clinical criteria of the macro-project research objective. Screening instruments, neurocognitive tests and the Perceptual Integration Test were used. Demographic variables were analyzed using frequency tables and dispersion measures. The performance analysis of the DCL and Control group was performed with the parametric t student test. According to the statistical tests applied to compare the performances of the Perceptual Integration Test and the FCSRT, it was found that there are differences between the performance of patients named as saints (controls) and patients with any manifestation of MCI. In this study, no patients were found to have diagnostic criteria for a single domain amnestic DCL subtype profile, however this may be due to the small sample selected.
