The present investigation arises with the purpose of knowing and evidencing the current state of the work environment and quality of life of the officials of the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC), specifically in the custody and surveillance unit of the Bogotá Metropolitan Complex - COMEB; To progress on the issue and thus generate obvious results and generate results for the postulate about the concept of work environment, a series of activities were carried out such as: visit to the work area, taking photographs of this place and a Quantitative survey of officials of this unit. It should be noted that there is experience and knowledge of the area to investigate, this due to belonging directly to the functions exercised in this unit, having direct contact with the system and officials in this area, also evidencing previous studies on the subject in similar areas and common themes in the same company, also in previous years with studies but without effective application for the improvement of this transcendental issue in any organization; This research generated results with which we met some of the problems and shortcomings, the subject of organizational changes in theories such as those of Conner, El modelo de Burke, El modelo de Shaafsma, Peiró, en su modelo AMIGO, Rothwell, Sullivan y McLean , Shewhart, Achilles, Gaynor Butterfield, Aldritch, Hannan y Freeman, McKelvey entre otras with which we intend to scale this research and not to be left alone in physical format; that evidence is achieved and applicability is reached; These are presented internally in said dependency and likewise what were the possible affectations and to be able to generate the guidelines to devise strategies in favor of the improvement of the work environment and also its labor performance.
