In the present work aims to analyze the laterality and writing process in fourth grade children of a public school located in the city of Bogotá. For the study, laterality and writing tests were performed on a sample of 32 students, of which 12 are girls and 20 are boys aged between 8 and 11 years. A research methodology based on observation and application of test. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and correlational procedures that yielded a non-significant correlation, which led to a comparison of non-parametric test groups. This comparison proved that there is no incidence of laterality in the writing processes in the selected sample, since there is no direct relationship between these two variables. However, those students who practice sports showed better results at the written level than those who do not and, on the contrary, those students who play some type of instrument showed low results in the story writing dimension.
