The care of childbirth has become an instant, sometimes tedious hours of violation of rights due to violent practices caused by the health personnel towards the pregnant woman, which is contradictory, since the time of delivery is constituted as a unique, indescribable, unforgettable experience, added to this the anguish and fear that invade them increases the expectation of this stage in the pregnant woman; In addition to this, the international, regional and local relevance, already presented, on the importance of obstetric violence in the care of women during the process of childbirth, leads us to present this degree work with the aim of exploring the perception of women and analyze the phenomenon of obstetric violence, in order to identify whether medical practices performed as routine during care affect the perception of the quality of services and also directly the health of mothers and newborns . The issue of obstetric violence during childbirth is significant because we consider it important to highlight the responsibility of propagating changes in some inappropriate practices that can have a significant impact on people's lives and health, and finally, empower them from this momentous event in their lives. And as professionals. Based on the above up to this point, this work aims to contribute to the construction of information on the perception of patients about health care practices that are performed during the care of labor, and immediate postpartum that are considered as violent to address and interrupt the vicious circle by determining strategies that reduce the problem. The identification of this problem as the presence of actions or attitudes determined as forms of violence, can lead to processes of reflection and improvement of care, with a positive impact on women and direct benefit to the quality of the institution's services, It will generate a progressive interest in caring with responsibility and commitment to humanized, complete and warm care.
