Resumen
The present work consists in the elaboration of a rigid pavement design of the accesses that lead to the Playarrica police inspection roads in the Municipality of San Antonio - Tolima, which this type of pavement formed by a concrete slab on a base , or directly on the subgrade. Element that transmits the efforts directly to the ground in a minimized way, is self-resistant, and the amount of concrete must be controlled. In Colombia, the design methods for the most used concrete pavements are those proposed by the AASHTO-1993 and PCA-84, there is also the INVIAS methodology that is a combination of the two previous methods. Both methods have different characteristics and the thicknesses calculated with them, for similar conditions they may be different, but here the methodology of the AASHTO-1993 and INVIAS was used, therefore, the conditions of the existing soil are evaluated and the projections of traffic to be served, and multilayer structures are proposed that allow the traffic efforts to be assumed during the road design period. The purpose of the present study is to design the thickness of the concrete and the modulation of the concrete plate to be used, according to the characteristics of the terrain, the traffic conditions and the topographic conditions of the terrain, in order to guarantee the durability and quality of the play. Therefore, to begin the design of rigid pavement, the CBR (Californian Bearing Ratio) laboratory test was carried out and in turn data from vehicle gauges were obtained, after this the rigid pavement design was carried out by the mentioned methods previously. When performing the daily average traffic design, an NE 8.2 Tn of: 853,165 was obtained, with an NT2; with the soil study, a CBR of 3.5 was determined; with the previous results, the AASTHO -93 method with MR 40 was performed, it produced a thickness of 17.5 cm of concrete plate and a thickness of 15 cm of granular base; The method of INVIAS with MR 40, a result of a thickness of 25 cm of concrete plate and a thickness of 15 cm of granular base was obtained.
