The main objective of this project is to identify and characterize publications on the concepts and instruments that are used to evaluate psychological well-being in institutionalized older adults, taking into account an extensive review, through different inclusion and exclusion criteria about evaluation instruments that measure the psychological well-being of the institutionalized elderly, that have been published between 2000 and 2019 and that the instruments used have been designed or validated in Latin America. They were identified from various databases such as UCC search engine, Google academic and databases such as Scielo, 20 articles in total were reviewed and classified, these articles were made in Latin American countries on psychological well-being and quality of life in older adults. It can be concluded that, from the results obtained in the literature review, it was found that Colombia is the country with the largest number of publications on the evaluation of the elderly, however, Spain was among the first to address the issue. The instruments that were most used in subjective well-being: RYFF psychological well-being scale, SABE survey and PERMA profile.The instruments were found in the part of brain functionality: the life satisfaction index (LSI-A), Barthel index, Mini - mental State Examination, Rosenberg scale, GDS scale, Pfeiffer test, classification scale and dependence graduation, functional autonomy assessment scale (VAS). In the topic of concept of quality of life which were questionnaire Sf-36, questionnaire of quality of life (CUBRECAVI), Multicultural Index of Quality of Life.
