Resumen
The municipality of Mesetas (Meta), historically had an economic dynamic centered on the agriculture production, consequence of colonization´s process, where the villagers took possession of the land with cattle and agricultural products for self-consumption and sale; on the other hand since its foundation, on the 58 years ago, it has been immersed in the middle of the armed conflict, by several actors, standing out between them the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army FARC-EP. The purpose of this research was descriptive the economic social impact generated by the armed conflict in the Municipality of Mesetas, during the years 1985 to 2017. For this, it has been made a social, qualitative and explanatory research through of a directed survey a sample of 120 households of the municipality of Mesetas with minimiun permanence of 10 years, also consulted some secondary sources. The result of the investigation shows that Mesetas has always been immersed in the armed conflict, as it was founded by settlers displaced by bipartisan violence and also arrived in this territory guerrillas and settlers displaced by the second wave of anticommunist violence between 1955 and 1962. The distension´s zone brought with it the increase of illicit crops, homicides, kidnappings, forced recruitment and extortion, which had their most critical moment in 2002, when ending the failed peace process and entered paramilitaries on the territory. The impact was evidenced in the low socioeconomic development, in the transition of the agricultural region to “cocalera” region and the subsequent, in the psychosocial sequels and the destabilizing and traumatic character of the people guided by insecurity and impotence, who require psychological and economic reparation, whose hopes are based on the peace agreement and the implementation of public policies, which are applied during the post-conflict period to contribute to a better socioeconomic development of the municipality.
