n the research framework of this project, an issue was taken as a reference in recent years that has gained great importance worldwide and is Sustainable Development, this concept originated in the Environment Commission at the United Nations, in response to the overexploitation of natural resources used for the productive benefit of companies and also of man.Sustainable Development initially contemplates three pillars and they are environmental, social and economic, the purpose is to seek a balance between the parties. This model has been incorporated by several countries in its policies. In the specific case of Colombia, according to the criteria proposed by international organizations, the country has modified the sectoral technical standards aimed at this new measure.Additional tourism has been one of the sectors most committed to sustainable development, thus adapting its activity according to market needs and according to regulations, in order to be more competitive. Nowadays Colombia has more occupation and increase of economic income due to the international promotion by the government, this sector has also expanded its coverage in hotel infrastructure, thanks to the income exemption promoted by the government to increase the presence of multiple hotel chains in the country.The town of La Candelaria is one of the most recognized in the city of Bogotá for tourist activities, due to its great multiculturalism and the historical context that surrounds it in all its colonial architecture. It has a quite important boom in the reception of foreigners and national visitors, captivated by the variety of attractions and services offered by the town. In the contextual framework, all the aspects involved will be detailed, population, commercial, environmental, religious, geographical, among others, then we will find the chapter of the research methodology in which variables that influence the sustainable management of organizations, based on the book Sustainability Management in the framework of organizations (Garzon, and others, 2015), hence the research evaluating factors such as durability, business ecosystem, strategic personnel management, Sustainable leadership and innovation. Being these necessary for a cultural transformation of the same companies and as they can be benefited with the initiative to generate the change towards competitiveness.Also as part of the field work, the results found in the surveys conducted to hotel SME establishments are evaluated in the town of La Candelaria and with theoretical information previously consulted, the respective analyzes are carried out in order to corroborate the scope that these establishments have in terms of sustainability and managing to determine a DOFA matrix to identify the elements that compromise this management.
