There has been frequent talk about false memories or false memories, understood as any memorial report of information, in which there is a partial or total difference of the facts. However, this theoretical review seeks to answer a great question that arises within the psychology of the testimony and relates to the way false memories occur in children who are victims of sexual abuse and what can be done do to minimize them by reducing interference in the judicial process. Based on the foregoing, it is important to mention that throughout the document the elements to be taken into account during the declaration of a minor are reviewed, knowing that creating a correct interview environment can facilitate the recovery of the largest amount of information and avoid questions centered on the misdiagnosis, minimizing the risk of creating false memories in the child.
