Resumen
Zoonosis in the daily health of people is not very taken into account due to the little knowledge that the common people have about it, even though more and more seriousness is being taken in this matter, that is why, there is a need to investigate potentially zoonotic diseases to establish some bases, by which, future research will raise awareness of the prevalence of these diseases in susceptible humans. 49 blood samples were taken from the tutors, who have dogs diagnosed with canine ehrlichiosis. The clinical signs of human ehrlichiosis were not considered as inclusion criteria; however, some of them reported signs compatible with the disease and the possibility of being bitten with the dog's tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) which is the most common vector of ehrlichiosis. The laboratory method for the diagnosis used was real-time PCR (qRT PCR). The samples taken were negative to the diagnosis of qRT-PCR, these results were socialized with the tutors of the sampled canines, in addition to socializing about what is ehrlichiosis as zoonosis and the alternatives of prevention of it, in two clinics of different sites in the city of Ibague and the cyclovia on Sunday, an information card was distributed; All this under the concept of a single health.
