We sought to assess the levels of stress and coping strategies employed by the students of the Psychology Program of the Cooperative University of Colombia, who practice in different professional fields, with part-time and full-time hourly intensity, the sample being a total of 70 participants; The design implemented for this study is based on a multimethod triangulation model by Denzin (1978). The first part consisted of the application of psychometric tests: the Life Events Questionnaire of B. Sandín and P. Chorot and, Coping Scale (EEC -M) validated by Londoño, N. et.al (2006) in a Colombian sample, in the second part the application of the second qualitative instrument (structured interview) was carried out and, finally, the statistical analysis and the respective one were made triangulation of the data, obtaining data such as: (first) the factors that produce more degrees of being in the practitioners with respect to the averages thrown, are ascending: residence (2), academic (1,9), social (1 , 8), and in the same order of ideas the one that causes less stress is the work factor (0,1); and (Second) the strategies with less use in students correspond to social support with 64% and professional with 79%. It is relevant to mention that in the autonomy strategy only 17% of the sample makes use of it. In the triangulation it was discovered that there was no consistency in the response of the coping strategies instrument and the interview, while there were relations with the instrument of vital events
