Innovation is considered as a source for a certain modification or improvement of something existing, through the application of new ideas based on novelty in conjunction with creativity. The perfect management part of the recognition of the need and influence it has on productivity, sustainability and development within organizations and in the management indicators of the country where it takes place. The objective of the research was to investigate the current state of innovation management in a theoretical and statistical way in Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Costa Rica and China, with the intention of having benchmarks that facilitate understanding and comparison between these countries according to the topic to be developed. Databases of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia were used to elaborate the theoretically and statistically part of the database of the World Bank. The result is a bibliographic study and a comparative analysis of the 6 countries, recognizing the current state of each of them according to projects put in place and figures revealed by variables analyzed according to innovation. The work concludes that the management regarding innovation within the structure and operation of a country, is based on a good recognition, planning, productivity, sustainability and capacity of continuation with the development fomenting essential sources for the obtaining of results. Latin America has a slow development in terms of innovation while a developed country like China, shows significant advances in the novel.
