| Resume: | El osteosarcoma (OSA) es una enfermedad en caninos de edad avanzada, existiendo incidencia de pacientes muy jóvenes (1.5 a 2 años), por lo que está enfermedad tiene una distribución por edades bimodal. Clásicamente es un cáncer de razas grandes y gigantes con pesos de más de 20 kg. Aproximadamente, el 75% ocurre en el esqueleto apendicular mientras que el 25% restante afecta al esqueleto axial y no hay predilección por sexo. A consulta llega un canino macho con historia de 3 meses con un crecimiento a nivel nasal, para lo cual se emplearon como ayudas diagnosticas la radiografía de cráneo y tórax y citología en las masas en cavidad oral y masa a nivel del hueso nasal, el resultado fue compatible con osteosarcoma. |
| Abstract: | Osteosarcoma (OSA) is a disease in elderly dogs, with an incidence of very young patients (1.5 to 2 years), so this disease has a bimodal age distribution. Classically it is a cancer of large and giant races with weights of more than 20 kg. Approximately 75% occurs in the appendicular skeleton while the remaining 25% affects the axial skeleton and there is no predilection for sex. A man with a 3-month history with nasal growth is consulted, for which the skull and chest x-ray and cytology in the masses in the oral cavity and the mass at the level of the nasal bone were used. As diagnostic aids. The result was compatible with osteosarcoma. |
