Resumen
Through this research we seek to recognize the conceptual models of logistic performance, taking into account the importance of the supply chain and how it varies in the international context in contrast to the national one; which allows to identify the shortcomings and generate new strategies applicable to a new model that is designed to increase the performance of the logistics service offered by companies in Santa Marta, equaling or exceeding the standards proposed theoretically and experienced in continents such as Asia and Europe. Through research, although the processes of production programming, service quality planning and flexibility in the logistics performance of some Santa Marta companies were found to be optimal, at the same time, shortcomings were found in areas such as sales behavior and the forecast of demand for which a logistic performance model is defined, from the identification of four of the most important areas: inventories, storage, production and distribution, as well as the application of the tools that will improve the logistics performance of the supply chain so that the entrepreneur can make decisions regarding their logistics processes and operations. The defined model operates with an approach based on (Hirakawa et al., 1992). Which consists in defining the order quantities determined by the actual demand.
